New Years resolutions

I don't know if I should really make some resolutions because I seem to break them so often. But I tend to make themnot only on New Years but also while lying in bed and not being able to sleep. All these thoughts I come up with about how to cook healthier, how to include workout into my daily routine, how to organize the household better etc up to changes concerning decorations or storage stuff in our house. The results are more or less long lists that too often don't include crossed-off-items!
But nontheless I want to:
scrap more
work out
read
finally get this household routine that allows me to get extra time for the above mentioned
be a better blogger (means blog more often)

Hope you are all having a nice New Years Eve and all the best for 2008!!!!

sick at christmas

is something you don't want to have. But when it happens - no one asks!!!

Felix started his second time of stomach flu the week before christmas. This time he also included having a fever!! So I spent almost 2 whole days on the couch or in bed with the little sick guy on top of me. that was the only thing that worked!! so he felt better the weekend before xmas and I went on a class reunion on the 23rd. The next day I felt not really well. I didn't drink because I had to drive so I thought it was because of all the people smoking there ( I had a headache). But after we took Felix to bed on christmas eve and handed each other our gifts I started visiting the bathroom on a more or less regular basis. Don't want to give you all the details but the night was horrible!!
So after this episode was over Felix started coughing and having a runny nose 2 days ago!! I just hope that the next year will start off better!!!

When Felix was sick with the stomach flu I received a long awaited mail: Claudine Hellmuths second book and Alis "Life artist". And because of him wanting to be with me all the time I wasn't able to touch it for 2 days. Just saw it sitting there on my dining table, ..... That was really hard!!

Home alone ...

.. meant time to scrap!! DH went to some sort of agricultural lecture last night so after Felix went to bed I was able to finally scrap again. I don't know when the last time was!! After all this crafting for the christmas market I wasn't able to do something just for me, just for the fun of creating something. So I pulled out these great german papers by Danyeela and started to play. Nothing really fancy, just simple stuff!!!

Feeling a little bit dissapointed

but still okay. The christmasmarket didn't turn out the way I wished it would have!! Saturday went actually great, but on Sunday the weather wasn't really good so I guess that was why people chose to stay yt home instead of coming and buying all my little goodies. I couldn't believe that I didn't sell one single heart!! I think they are so cute and to b ehonest already figured how much money it would be selling all of them!! Well the good thing is that I won't have to sew any new ones for our Felix-safe christmas tree and can just go with the ones I already made!!!

But I still made some good money and I started already to look out for some nice things to get!!

I leave you with some shots from the weekend and I can start getting into the chrsitmas mood now that the market is over!!

some handmade little journals with patterned paper scraps.

That's me arranging some greeting cards.

Still doing the same!!

These are my cute painted wooden boxes (which used to carry oranges in their first live!!)

Two little collages with embellies and PP

My favourite item - and most sold one : Lichtertüten (light bag?!?)

Last but not least: my sewn hearts that nobody liked!!! I really can't believe it!! But wait until christmas when I post a pic of our hearty xmas tree!!! You all wished you'd have bought some!! But then it's too late!!!

I forgot one thing: One of the ladies who organuzed the event came by sunday evening and asked about the day and how it went and stuff like that. After I told her that I wasn't satisfied she offered me to put one of my boxes filled with cards in her little store. She sells decorative items and make holiday wreaths and I think her store is open on 2 or 3 afternoons in the week. Her store is known by lots of people already and I think this might be a nice opportunity for me to sell some things. We will see!!

Lots on my ToDo List

I have been busy getting my projects finished for the christmas market on the 8th and 9th of december. As most of the times I'm a little bit behind. But time is really limited now and it is so tempting to do something else when Felix falls asleep. Something else like reading, sleeping, TV, blog reading, instead of finishing these mentioned projects or housework/Paperwork.

Maybe this would be a good goal for next year: get more organized so there is more time left for me!!

Had some thought about how to make some money while being a stay at home mum too. I thought about working with a homesale company before and in November Stampin' Up! started their business in Germany. Plus I got to know that The Body Shop also sells their stuff in home parties. I'm still in the process of thinking about this job. The problem is that we live pretty rural here and I'm afraid that I won'T be able to find that many women interested in stamping here. Plus I'm sot really sure if I really want to do such a job - never done it before!!

So right nowI have to get these soon-to-sell-projects ready plus it is Felix first birthday on the coming Sunday. So there are some things I need to prepare (plus making lists for christmas and getting the presents....)

Sorry, no pics again!!!

Misc.

Again such a long time in between my posts!!
But I just enjoyed reading other blogs instead of writing myself!!

Well. what happened in between?? Just some random things that come to my mind in no particular order:

- my aunt from the states visited and brought some scrap goodies including the Bind-it-all!! Haven't touched it yet but I'm excited to use it pretty soon!!

- Felix' third and forth teeth finally broke through. He had some more trouble with those - and we too!! Looks so cute when he is smiling!!

- did some IKEA shopping, nothing big just the little stuff that adds up in your card and on your bill ;-)

- finished most of the garden work. Fells good to know that there will be a break during the winter time!!

- have been to Wiesbaden yesterday to the Kreativ Welt. Did some scrap shopping but not too much. Pictures to follow later!!!

6x12

That seems to be a size that more and more scrapper try right now and tonight I watched a movie which reminded me of a credit card comercial and I thought right away about these two pictures and they seemed to just fit right on this new format. Didn't add much, but I like it that way.

Alright.... after doing some more online shopping at Hambly today (Christine , this will most likely be the last box!!) and doing some garden work I'm going to bed now, reading a little bit and then .......sssshhh....... night-night!!!

Scrapping again!!!

Long time, no scrap!!

The last couple of weeks I didn't get to scrap anything. Lots of other things to do, surfing the web, reorganizing the bedroom/scraproom, no ideas, ....
But hte lst 2 nights I got creative again: first doing some stamping for the christmas market where I will participate again and I started a LO yesterday that I was able to finish this
morning. It will be for challenge at the Just one word blog.

ebay, vacation and a first haircut

these 3 things have nothing in common but will be my update for you guys.

I sold some things on ebay like e.g. shoes that didn't really fit and some rubberstamps I never used and a piece of tupperware I once "had" to buy but also never really used in a way that would have justified the money I once paid for it!!
But stupid me forget our little trip to bavaria when I out the things on ebay and so it happened that some items were sold while I wasn't at home to watch and mail, etc. But my sis was so nice and we had some sort of conference call and she updated me on my profits. (I put the money aside for my trip to the KreativWelt in Wiesbaden in november!!!)

So here we are already talking about the 2nd word: VACATION
We went to Bavaria for a short vacation from last Friday until Tuesday night. My wish was to visit Munich during that trip because I like that city. We ended up going there on Tuesday basically already on our way home. We walked across the "ViktualienMarkt" - a really big Farmers Market there. Really beautiful - all the color and all these smells. (Sorry, I forgot to bring the camera!!!) Had some Starbucks there too (Raspberry Cheese Cake - YUMMMM). But here are some pictures of the days before - we were really lucky to have such great weather!! Back home it wasn't that good!!

The last pic is Felix being totally fascinated by some animals in a little zoo we visited in Ebbs.

And now on to the third word: HAIRCUT

That is him a couple of days before with his kind-of-long-hair:

Felix had his first haircut today!! He did so great! But Monika - my hairdresser - is really good with kids. Felix was standing on my lap and she started by putting a clip in my hais and combing first mine then his hair and then just starting cutting and he didn't really notice it. At the end she made his hair stand up a little put which looked really cute together with his big boy shirt!!!

Finally some LO's from the xtreme weekend

This was the Hambly Minibook class were we made a little minibook using Hambly transparencies and some ribbon, buttons and fabric. It was really cool to learn some tips about making such a transparent book. I didn't finish it in the class so I still have one page to add, but I took some pics of Adrienne's so I guess I will be fine!!!

These 2 LO'S are from the Freestyle class. At first I didn't really like the sequins, but once I started and picked that water picture and my paint colors I really liked how it turned out and made me think of the shimmering water in a pool.
We used some painted icecream or popsicle sticks on this LO too. Don't know if I will be able to get these here!!

In the second freestyle LO I used some tiny pics ( 2.5cm x 2.5 cm) from the 70' and 80's.

This is from the "altering embellishment" class were we used lollipop sticks and a stitching grid (?) and some buttons and paint to create our LO. I didn't even bother about using a ruler - just handcut my circles too!! In the close up you can also see the the 3D paint used on the PP:

xtreme weekend in Katwijk

Last friday Felix and me slept at my parents' so my dad and me were able to get up at 5 am saturday morning to drive 3.5 hours to get to Katijk aan Zee in the Netherlands. Noooo, my dad doesn't scrap!!! But he was nice enough to be my driver and enjoy a day at the see!!!
I took three workshops from Adrienne Looman and I really likes the projects we did!!
Since I still have to put some finishing touches to my LO's I will post some pictures later!!
Of course I did some shopping too. Finally got some Hambly overlays and some of these too; along with some other goodies.

workshop preparations

Saturday next week I will be going to my first scrap workshop in my life! Until now I have just scrapped the way I wanted or inspired by LO's from books, mags or the web. I'm really getting nervous about going there - last night and this morning I spend a total of 3 hours on the computer in order to fix the pictures for the classes. We got a supply list that showed how many and what size pics we need to bring. So I sat down and uploaded and resized and tried to figure out how to get 2,5 x 2,5 cm pics! ( Luckily Felix slept a whole 2.5 hours this morning so I was able to finish the whole thing, burn it on a CD and take it to the drugstore!)
These 2 are from pictures in the 70's and 80's and the next one is a mosaic made of this years pics:

My little explorer

Just a quick post to show off the LO I finished couple of minutes ago.

Paper by Danyeela, rub ons Rhonna Farrer, sticker pebblesinc. & 7gypsies

Last weekend

was a really nice one! Friday night I took some pics of Felix wearing an overall I wore when I was little. He wasn't too happy with me and the camera but it was okay!!

The first pic is me and the second one is Felix!!

Saturday my parents came over in the afternoon and while my mom went for a walk with Felix, my dad and I were able to hang up some stuff like pictures and such things that were waiting here for I don't know how long!!!

On sunday Sonja, Anja and me drove to Trier to a huge fleamarket just for kids stuff. Tons of toys and books and clothes. It was just awesome!!. Sonja and I found some nostalgic things we remembered from the 70's and 80's. Just love fleamarkets like this!!

The picture shows most of my finds!!

Have a good week!!!

Last Saturday was my friend Katharina and Tim's wedding party. Little Felix slept at my parents house and Stefan and I were able to stay as long as we wanted. For Stefan that meant till about 1 am (he had to get up early in the morning though) and for me it meant dancing, dancing, dancing until 4 in the morning. And I really really enjoyed this so much. It was such a nice party and they got a DJ for a present so the music was super cool too.

Started taking some pictures for the daily something project started by Ali. Have to get them printed to get started on this one!!

Today we have moved Felix bed into his own bedroom. So far - 9pm - he is doing fine. Feels somehoe strange without his bed in our bedroom but it's also great to have our room back to ourselves. Being able to sit at the computer without worrying if he might wake up.

Oberstdorf

I didn't know that you have to pack so much stuff when traveling with a kid!! Diapers, wipes, sunscreen, toys, ......

Felix sitting in our new backpack. He just loved sitting in there and being able to see everything.

We really enjoyed our trip and Felix especially liked Daddy being around the whole day!!! Maybe we are going for another trip in fall - either the Netherlands which means sea and beach (my choice!!) or the mountains again (which would be Stefan's choice!!).Let's see who wins!!

Carrots for the first time!!!

Felix has been really interested in our food for quiet some days now so we decided to give it a try and start feeding him solid food this monday. I picked some carrot baby food up in the store this weekend and when he started to ask for food around noon today I was ready for the experiment!!
Very important: to wear the right equipment - especially with carrots!! (And have mommy take a picture of it!!!)

Next thing : Warm up the carrots to a nice temperature. And then the fun part starts!! But he really did so well. Didn't spit out a little bit. Took the spoon so well. I guess we're off to solid food! Not the little baby any more now! He was so concentrated swallowing and tasting and all that stuff. Couldn't get him to really smile for the last picture.
